Gameboy Pocket with a colour screen. Imagine the best form factor Gameboy with a bright colour screen. This uses components from an original Gameboy Color to create a Gameboy Pocket Color. The original components such as CPU, SRAM, Oscillator and a bunch of other parts are soldered to a Mousebitelabs Pocket Colour motherboard.

Parts are from a Gameboy that had very worn shell (motherboard was great) so a nice OEM exam. Ple was not harmed in this endeavour. I do try to use donor consoles that are very worn or broken but have a fully working motherboard with no corrosion. The console boots up exactly as a Gameboy does with the iconic ding sound. This is not emulation as it is running from the OEM CPU, its a bit like dropping your brain in another (better) body.

The screen is an X5 IPS with 15 brightness settings, FRM and colour modes. The sensors for brightness are connected to a rocker button on the side for convenience. Please see pics at the end showing some of the build. If you're into modded consoles you'll likely know about this already but it should give an idea of the build if not. I would suggest investing in rechargeable batteries as this is set for using AAA batteries and IPS screens draw a fair bit of power. Ladda rechargeable batteries from IKEA seem to be well rated. You'll find the sound is greatly improved over the original Gameboy as this has a better sound setup. It is shelled in a Dragonball themed shell and has fancy cool blue / clear shimmer buttons. It's hard to show in pics but the buttons have a blue shimmer effect as the light shines over them. Buttons are by labfifteenco please search them up they have some cool stuff. Comes with box kit as shown in pic. If this items sells and you were interested then no worries, I can build this again but to your preference. There will be a lead time as I need to order parts in and put it all together plus theres a reasonable amount of soldering to do.

There's not a great deal of Pocket Colors around so makes for a good conversation or display piece. I have other modded Gameboys available please see my other listings or message me if you want something specific building to your liking. I have tons of pics of soldering work I have done, so just ask if you want to see reassurance of build quality.
