Any components used are high quality to ensure the longest life. The screen has been upgraded to a backlit Q5 IPS Screen which is both 15% larger than the original screen, but also has significantly more vibrant colour ranges and as the screen is backlit it can be played in any level of lighting without the need for accessories, something that the original gameboy colour screen was lacking in. While this does give the console a slightly different feel, it still has that classic nostalgia with an updated pop to it. As a responsible restoration service, we know that this new screen has some drawbacks - the original power regulator wasn't designed to handle it and can fail after several months of usage. That is why we upgrade all power regulators to a new, significantly more efficient beast which can handle those loads with ease.

The new screen also has an On Screen Display which can be used to modify the brightness levels, adjust screen positioning, and turn on or off the retro pixel effect to the screen. This menu can be accessed by pressing Select + A + B at the same time. Finally, switch out the old rubber pads, and slot it all into a nice new case to give it that pristine look before finishing off with a brand new tempered glass screen which is a huge improvement over the old plastic screen.
